PREMI 2

Partner Call open until: July 15, 2024

Start of the project: Q4 2024

Objective

Development of novel and optimized methods for modeling and simulation of electromagnetic interference (EMI) of Electronics and Software Based Systems (ESBS).

Nowadays, simulation is an essential part of electronic system development. However, the modeling required for this, i.e. the identification of relevant components and parameters and the mapping of reality in the virtual simulation model, is very complex, time-consuming and error-prone. The PREMI 2 project is the continuation of the successful predecessor project with the aim of making the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of power electronics assessable by simulation with as little effort as possible.

Expected Results

Development of methods and workflows suitable for everyday use for the simulation of conducted emissions (EMC) from AC/DC converters. The project includes the detailed consideration of all necessary steps in the areas of

  • measurement,
  • modeling,
  • simulation,
  • and comparison of commercial simulation software.

Special attention is paid to the

  • modeling of (planar and wound) transformers and common mode chokes,
  • optimized design of EMC filters and
  • automation of measurement, simulation and data processing with Python.
