Linz, 04/25/2024 - Silicon Austria Labs (SAL), Austria's top research center for Electronics and Software Based Systems (ESBS), collaborates with Johannes Kepler University (JKU) in Linz on key technologies for the wirelessly connected “things” of the future.
"University SAL Labs" enable knowledge transfer to industry
The success of the "University SAL Labs" is the focused cooperation with universities on key topics for Electronics and Software Based Systems. Researchers from the University and SAL jointly conduct fundamental research in the lab, which can later be implemented in cooperations with industry. "Silicon Austria Labs was founded to conduct international cutting-edge research and to strengthen the Austrian electronics industry and the entire ESBS eco-system. The cooperation with top researchers from JKU in the field of communications engineering, radio frequency technologies and artificial intelligence is a central part of our strategy," says Dr. Christina Hirschl, CEO of SAL.
„This cooperation combines the know-how and innovation strengths of both JKU and SAL. There is incredible potential in initiatives like these. To utilize and promote this potential, JKU has founded the Linz Institute of Technology. Thus, together with partners, we are able to contribute to key future topics – in this case to mobile communications and 6G,” explains JKU vice rector Mag.a Christiane Tusek.
