In this project, we are testing 5G RedCap modules with OAI-based 5G systems. This includes configuring and programming open-source communication parameters and protocols of the 5G PHY layer.

- Partnering in research and evaluation of functionality and performance of 5G User Equipment (UE) namely RedCap modems.
- Researching and developing features in the OAI-based 5G implementation for the support of RedCap 5G modems connectivity.
- Analyzing the limitations of the current OAI implementation regarding the support for the RedCap UE connectivity.
- Defining the requirements for testing the functionality and performance of the RedCap UEs.
- Testing the features of the OAI implementation for the RedCap support in various scenarios.
- Development of testing configurations and a platform for evaluation of RedCap UE connectivity procedures.
- Development towards the implementation of missing features related to RedCap support in OAI.
Expected results
- Defined missing features in OAI implementation of the 5G system for RedCap connectivity support.
- Evaluated OAI 5G functionality regarding the support for RedCap 5G UE connectivity in various scenarios and development towards providing connectivity tests.
