Today's satellite communications are being completely transformed by new constellations of satellites in low and medium earth orbits, replacing geostationary satellites. These constellations represent a significant improvement, offering global coverage, significantly reduced latency and high throughput broadband communications. Moreover, the introduction of 5G NTN has created a new, fast-growing market, opening up new opportunities for broadband internet in homes, cars, planes and ships. The requirements on the user terminal side remain challenging. In particular, the antenna must be equipped with electrical beam steering to support MIMO and multi-beam capability.
