The Wireless Communications Research Unit is driving the development of real-time communication systems in the field of reliable sensor and actuator communication, with the goal of advancing research in close collaboration with our partners.

Wireless security with minimal latency and minimal power consumption

Sensor and actuator networks are an integral part of machines, manufacturing facilities, and complex environmental sensing systems. The current challenge lies in developing reliable and trustworthy wireless communication to enable Industry 4.0 and cyber-physical systems, thereby achieving greater flexibility. The existence and availability of trustworthy real-time wireless communication opens up innovation potential for industry partners to strengthen and expand their position in global markets.

5Gearing

5GEARING aims to develop guide­lines on the deploy­ment of 5G campus network for manu­fac­turing indus­tries targeting local and rural regions. Using these guide­lines, the project targets the demon­stra­tion of the 5G system capa­bil­i­ties in an indus­trial envi­ron­ment with defined traffic profile of an indus­trial use case. 5GEARING contributes to expanding the 5G network ecosystem from trial to launch involving customers, vendors, service providers, inte­gra­tors, and acad­emia.
