Supreme

SUPREME develops scalable manufacturing processes for superconducting quantum devices and provides pilot-line services for academia and industry to accelerate the transition from research to industrial production. By offering pilot fabrication, process design kits (PDKs), and commercialization support, SUPREME strengthens Europe’s quantum technology ecosystem and technological sovereignty.

Project goals

The SUPREME pilot line focuses on developing scalable manufacturing processes for superconducting quantum devices, with the objective of establishing pilot-line services accessible to both academic and industrial users. By bridging the gap between laboratory-scale innovation and reliable, scalable production, SUPREME seeks to accelerate the industrialization and market uptake of superconducting quantum technologies. Through the provision of process design kits (PDKs), pilot fabrication runs, and commercialization support services, the pilot line will enable technology developers to validate, optimize, and scale their innovations in an industrially relevant environment. In doing so, SUPREME aims to strengthen Europe’s quantum technology ecosystem, enhance strategic technological autonomy, and reinforce Europe’s technological sovereignty in accordance with the objectives of the European Quantum and Chips Acts.

  • Develop cutting-edge, stable, reproducible and high-yield processes for state-of-the-art superconducting quantum devices
  • Ensure high-quality processing through meticulous quality assurance and control methodology, and validate the developed fabrication processes through demonstrators
  • Provide stable pilot fabrication services for European customers to support industrialization of quantum technologies
  • Build European ecosystem on development and innovation in superconducting quantum chips, devices and systems
  • Explore integration opportunities between SUPREME’s superconducting and CHAMP-ION’s ion-trap technologies, enhancing scalability and performance
