Graz, November 9, 22 - Bruno Clerckx will take up his new position as CTO of SAL on January 9, 2023. He holds a PhD in electrical engineering from the Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium and a DSc (Doctor of Science) from Imperial College London in the UK. He gained experience in the industrial environment at Samsung's headquarters in the South Korean capital Seoul, where he played a leading role in the research and development of 4th generation wireless communications ("4G") from 2006 to 2011. He then returned to academic research at Imperial College London, and to date has published two books and over 250 scientific articles.

STRENGTHENING INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

At SAL, he is now responsible for all research areas. SAL specializes in application-oriented, cooperative research on electronic based systems (EBS) with the research areas Microsystems, Sensor Systems, Power Electronics, Intelligent Wireless Systems and Embedded Systems, divided between the Graz, Villach and Linz sites. The headquarters of the leading-edge research center is in Graz, where Clerckx will also be based.

"With Bruno Clerckx as CTO, SAL is ushering in a new era.
