Indspeed

The INDSPEED project is developing a new ultra-precise magnetic encoder system based on TMR sensors and SmCo pole wheels….

Project goals

  • Develop cost-effective low-field TMR sensing by optimizing SmCo layers and leveraging TMR advantages such as robustness to stray fields and low energy consumption.
  • Reduce system tolerances through advanced sensor and pole writing design as well as AI-supported compensation techniques.
  • Enabling high-speed industrial sensors (e.g. for CNC spindles) without back-bias magnets and as a replacement for expensive high-speed elastomer solutions.
  • Provide precise absolute position measurement with true power-on and multiturn capabilities for robotics and collaborative robots.
