Machine Model & Bearing Currents (MMBC)
Partner Call open until: January 31, 2025
Project Start: March 2025
The electric machine and its bearings as well as the power inverter have severe impact on the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) behavior of an e-axle. The goal of this project is to create models of these components and their behavior and bring them into a simulation environment. The results of these simulations allow to estimate Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) of the e-axle including the power inverter.
In the project, we intend to go for a frequency range from very low frequencies (few Hz) up to the hundred MHz range. Simulations will be compared to measurements and confidence intervals will be defined.
Expected results
- Electrical models of the bearings and bearing currents
- Electrical model of the machine
- Simulations of an e-axle including power inverter
- Comparison of simulations to measurements
- Knowledge of the limits and shortcomings of the simulations
