Your future responsibilities

  • Establish the Division Power Electronics as “Center of Excellence“ within the relevant national & international research ecosystem in close cooperation with the SAL Executive Management & the Division Heads
  • Responsibility for the Division Power Electronics in terms of strategic & operative planning of turnover, costs, projects and investments
  • Elaborate & implement the overall long-term SAL strategy, the midterm planning & annual budgets together with the SAL Executive Management & Division Heads
  • Establish & maintain close relationsships with the relevant industry, Austrian & international research organizations & unversities by acquiring project partners, cooperation contracts, contract research projects & scientific cooperation partners
  • Acquire cooperation projects with industry & SMEs
  • Apply for national & international funding projects
  • Successfully manage & exploit research projects, in which resources of the Division are involved
  • Increase, promote & develop outstanding employees according to the predefined planning scenario

Your profile

Expert competencies

  • University degree in electronics, technical mathematics or physics, preferably with PhD degree and overlapping competencies in different areas of Power Electronic Systems
  • Multi-annual R&D experience in the field of Power Electronic components and/or concepts & systems and/or integration technologies by managing projects with the industry and public funding authorities
  • Know-how in system architectures for Power Electronics, the related control technologies & embedded software
  • Knowledge of differentiation possibilities in terms of Power Electronic Systems, which are relevant for the competiveness of EBS and electronic devices
  • Knowledge of strengths, weaknesses, risks and opportunities in the EBS industry in terms of Power Electronics
  • Experience and very good capabilities in program and project management (skills & methods)

Leadership Competencies

  • Experience in successfully leading larger development or research teams
  • Close networking with relevant industry, Austrian & international research organizations
  • Excellent communication skills (in written & oral form)
  • Leadership experience with external impact in cooperating with customers, suppliers and research organizations
  • Experience with various corporate processes & organizational develpment
  • Fluent business German & English

Important facts

This position is endowed with a basic gross annual salary of min. € 115,000,- depending on your experience & skills.
