EMCC Lab for modeling and test

Start: Q4 2018

Objective

By developing a deeper understanding of EMC standards and measurement methods in the EMCC Lab, we want to prepare the way for first time right designs for EMCC in this project. We apply existing and new, yet-to-be-defined measurement procedures on the devices under test (DUT) from partners in industry, which can range from miniaturized EBS through to complete vehicles. The measurement procedures are modeled with simple network models (lumped element models) through to complex physical 3D models. The simulation results are evaluated and compared using the “hardware in the loop (HIL)” principle using measurements of the physical hardware.

Expected results

By applying “model-based design” principles, potential EMC problems can be identified and addressed early in the design process. As a result, redesign cycles caused by EMC can be minimized and ideally eliminated.
