SMART PHOTOVOLTAIC MODULES
Photovoltaics is a method of converting virtually unlimited sunlight into electricity. It is steadily growing in importance and will play a key role in the power supply in the future.
The IPOT project is aimed at developing smart solar modules and systems to improve the efficiency of photovoltaic modules to a large extent. This will lead to more efficient electricity generation, falling manufacturing costs in the long term and increasing grid parity for photovoltaic systems. The project is carried out in close strategic cooperation with partners in the entire photovoltaic value chain and other research institutes. It seeks to establish a centre of excellence for photovoltaics in Austria in order to support local companies and make a contribution to the global photovoltaic industry.
