By developing a deeper understanding of EMC standards and measurement methods in the EMCC Lab, we want to prepare the way for first time right designs for EMCC in this project.
Virtual prototyping and model-based design means combining both the aspects of the design as well as that of realization, and using demanding model-in-the-loop (MIL), software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) to create and test systems in a development process.
SAL wants to further develop this methodology in order to improve the development process systemically, to evaluate it early, to validate it and rectify any development cycle uncertainties.
The vision is, despite increasing complexity, to improve the development of electronic systems by applying multiphysical and multi-level modeling and XIL tests. The initial focus is on the development and application of this methodology for “design for electromagnetic compatibility and coexistence”, for which SAL is planning, in conjunction with Graz University of Technology, the construction of a laboratory (EMCC Lab) which will be highly regarded in Europe and the world.
