SAL is esta­blis­hing a re­search lab char­tered with crea­ting inno­va­tive system approa­ches (HW&SW) for "embedded Arti­fi­cial Intel­li­gence“. In close coope­ra­tion with univer­si­ties, we will perform inter­di­sci­pli­nary re­search in Machine Learning & Computer Percep­tion, Signal Process­ing and Inte­grated Circuits Design.

The focus is on neuro­mor­phic compute algo­rithms and archi­tec­tures for embedded systems as well as advanced signal process­ing for intel­li­gent sensor data process­ing and fusion and embedded AI for deci­sion-making, auto­ma­tion and control. The colla­bo­ra­tive approach provides the lab with world-wide leading edge equip­ment laying foun­da­tions for scien­tific excel­lence on inter­na­tional level.

  • Analog, mixed-signal and digital inte­grated circuit design
  • Embedded SW archi­tec­ture, and GPU, FGPA and micro-controller programming
